Basic Life Support (BLS)
The American Heart Association’s BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate breaths and ventilations, and provide early use of an AED. The course reflects science and education from the 2025 American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
What does this course teach?
High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
BLS concepts from the Chain of Survival
Delivering effective breaths or ventilations
Importance of early use of and how to use an AED
Performance as an effective team member during multirescuer CPR
Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults, children, and infants
HeartSaver CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification
What does this course teach?
Heartsaver CPR, AED, and First Aid covers essential lifesaving skills, including:
Recognizing the signs of a heart attack or stroke
Adult CPR and AED use
Choking relief for adults, children, and infants
Drowning prevention and response
Opioid-associated life-threatening emergencies
Optional modules in Child CPR AED and Infant CPR
First aid basics
Medical emergencies
Injury emergencies
Environmental emergencies
Illness and injury prevention
Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED gives participants the skills to respond to common illnesses and injuries in infants and children, including bleeding, burns, allergic reactions, breathing problems, and more. The course also covers serious emergencies such as shock, seizures, head or spinal injuries, and drowning prevention and response.
· Training also includes CPR AED use, and choking relief for Infants and Children, with an option to add adult modules.
Blended Learning Opportunities
Our most flexible and quick session option. Both Basic Life Support and Heartsaver courses can be taken online on your own time! Once your online course is completed, we schedule a time for an in-person skills session to practice on a manikin.
